28.7.2017: Raier Moos

A lazy day at the hotel, which I of course cannot bear up. Early afternoon, I start for a one hourīs walk to the Raier Moos.

Hotel Seehof, as seen from the road side.

After about half an hour, after passing the village of Raas, I reach the Raier Moos. Lush wet grassland around a central pond.

Great hairy willowherb (Epilobium hirsutum)

Wet grassland and pond.

Apple farmers remove bad, small or supernumerous apples.

The pond of Raier Moos.

The pond of Raier Moos, from a different perspective.

Surrounding the pond and the moss, I touch the edge of the fields and apple plantations. The village of Raas in the background.

Huge lots of different orchids are growing in the wet grass, ...

... most of which are withered of course at this time of the year.

Only a few single flowers of this one, so I can identify it as marsh helleborine (Epipactis palustris).

Marsh helleborine (Epipactis palustris)- these two with a bit more flowers left.

This orchid has near ripe seeds.

Huge lots of orchids, all withered.

Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria).
