Salzkammergut Mountainbike tour 24.5.2004
After a totally rainy weekend there is one day left for me before my congress starts. The family has driven home, so I have time for a Mountainbike ride. First I tackle Postalm, from there however downhill on the other side to the next valley (Lammertal), passing by Abtenau and over Pass Gschütt to Gosau. Further more to Lake Hallstatt and via Bad Goisern and Bad Ischl back to Strobl, about 80 km all.
Gamsfeld (left) and Braunedlkogel (right) on the ascent to Postalm
Ramson is flourishing near the road
Gamsfeld (2.027 m)
Herzblättrige Kugelblumen (Globularia cordifolia) near the road with view to Braunedlkogel
Orchis mascula subsp. signifera near the road
Kugelblumen
Once more Braunedlkogel (centre) and Gamsfeld (left), now seen from Postalm
On descent to Lammertal: Auszer - Lienbachalm.
During the descent, both V-brakes of my bike turn out to have a broken down
brake shoe - that does not make me feel secure!!!
King cups at Auszer - Lienbachalm
View from Lammertal to the Dachstein massif - to the right Bischofsmuetze (2.458 m)
orchis mascula subsp. signifera in Lammertal
Gosau with the Gosau ridge. Due to the bad brakes I decided to walk the 2 kilometers down Pass Gschuett
Lake Hallstatt, view in northern direction
Lake Hallstatt, view in southern direction to the Dachstein massif
A very nice guy with his small, but fine bicycle store in Bad Goisern repaired
my brakes - as a thank you I support the link to his homepage:
