28.8.2020: Dorfer Alm
After a rainy night, the weather got a bit better in the morning. For a fee of 6 Euro, we have organized the key to the gate of the gravel road leading up to the Dorferalm and drive up to the forest boundary at about . 1.800 m asl.
It is cloudy, with a few sunny spells.
We walk up to the ridge at 2.374 m asl. Due to dense fog in the uppermost parts, we renounce a ridge walk.
Back to the pastures.

Dorfer Alm, nearly back at the car. On the drive back, we stop to look for more mushrooms, to bring them back home.
Back to the apartment, after a hot shower, I drive to the Bergerhof, Styria´s highest farm at an altitude of 1.450 m asl.
Lots of different animal species are living here, highly appropriate to the species, ...
...
... among them are Alpine pigs, a verya old pig breed that seemed to be extinct for a long time, but a few animals were found a few years ago at farms in southern tyrol.
Since then, a breeding- and maintanence program had been started.
Most pigs are black, ...
... but there also are light and brindled ones. Thanks a lot to the farmer, Christian Bachler, who took the time to explain me facts to his barnyard. I bought meat for Sunday´s roast pork from the Bergerhof, and when I write this, bacon and sausages still are in my fridge.
