Dobratsch 10.12.2014
For several weeks now, Austria was covered by a thick layer of dense mist,
at times so thick that it reached from near valley level up to an altitude of 1.200, 1.400 or,
at last, even 1.900 m. No chance to escape into the sun in reasonable time.
Therefore, no pictures from my camera - grey in grey does not make sense.
My wife Susi is on a cure in Warmbad Villach for 2 1/2 weeks now, and it took
her 16 days to first see the Karawank mountains from her hotel room. Today, a
last the sun came out, and as she did not have therapies, together with two
other cure guests, she started up the road to the Villacher Alpe - Dobratsch.
Therefore, all these pictures from her smart phone.
View from near the car park at the Rosstratte (1.733 m) to the eastern Julian Alps with the Triglav (2.864 m), Slowenia´s highest mountain.
Happy Susi in a wonderful place. You can see that the cure is good for her.
View to the North to the Nock mountains.
View to the East over the large valley of Klagenfurt, behind to the right the Karawank mountains. Far right the prominent Mittagskogel (2.145 m).
View to the Nock mountains far left the Hohe Tauern.
Karawank mountains with Mittagskogel (2.145 m).
Julian Alps, in front, in the shadow, the skiing area of the Dreiländereck.
It´s beautiful here!
For a finish of the day, bathing in the Maibachl.
