27.6.2017: Pragser Wildsee

An exhausting drive in lots of traffic jam brought us to the little village of Prags and to the famous lake called the "Pragser Wildsee", which is said to be the most beautiful lake in the dolomite mountains. A walk around the lake with thousands of other tourists, mainly attracted by the fact that the area is the film location in an Italian TV series with Terence Hill.

Last traffic jam at the entrance to the huge car park being nearly fully occupied ...

Good cause for the rush however.

A small extension of the lake to the northeast. Seekofel (2.810 m) in the background.

We are now walking ...

 ... along the eastern bank.

Due to the steep rock wall directly extending into the water, the path goes up here a bit. View back.

Arrived in the middle of the eastern bank. Here the path goes down and along the lake. Click here or into the picture for a larger display.

Soon we will arrive ...

... at the southeastern end ...

 ... of the lake.

Instead of taking the parallel path, we now stroll along the southern bank of the lake.

We take a short rest at the large rubble areas on the southwestern bank.

We rested on the rubble area to the right.

Along the western bank we walk back on a narrow gravel road.

View over to the southeastern bank..

Back at the car ... on the drive back we had a whole hour delay due to a traffic accident.
