19.6.2024 Offensee near Bad Ischl/Ebensee.
A bit longer drive, passing Bad Ischl and til shortly before Ebensee, then branching off for another 9 km along a narrow side valley which opens at its end - hence the name of the lake ("open lake").
In the morning the view from the hotel to the Dachstein with its glacier, with lots of snow on it this year.
Arrived at the Offensee, view down the valley. The car park is not very far from the head of the lake.
Panorama view to the Offensee, looking to the outflow. On the opposite side of the lake the slopes are rather steep.

The dogs play at the gravel beach, only Bella dares to go swimming to fetch the stick. It is rather hot today.

Small eatery at the southern end of the lake, however open only on weekends at this time of the year.
A small bathing place with a lawb for sunbathing.
A bit further a gravel area corresponding to the bed of the Rinner beck, the inflow of the lake, which however does not flow at the moment (or maybe only flowing subterraneously).

Here, the dogs may run free.
View from the gravel bed of the Rinner beck to the Offensee´s eastern shore.
This Knapweed fritillary (Melitaea phoebe) feels quite comfortable on Susi´s hand.
We proceed walking another bit along the lake.

We don´t completely orbit the lake, the remaining distance being too far for today as it is rather hot.
