17.6.2024: Ödensee and Ödensee moor.

AT the outward journey, as so many times ago, a short detour to the Ödensee.

The weather is a bit cloudy, but reasonably warm.

First we walk a short leg along the lake, then we branch off to the moor. Nerar the gravel road common twayblade (Neottia ovata, syn. Listera ovata) ist growing.

The small river Ödensee - Traun comes from the Ödensee.

Wet grassland, luckily manured and mowed no in all parts..

A few showers drawing through, but we don´t get really wet.

Lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia) on an unmowed grassland near the moor.

Numerous orchids ar growing here.

Three different orchid species in one picture: Common spotted orchid (Dactylorhiza fuchsii, in front to the left), Lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia, in the middle to the right), in front of this and in the background fragrant orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea). Hybrids may be there, though I cannot identify any.

Broad-leaved marsh orchid (Dactylorhiza majalis) in another grassland used as cow pasture.

In this wet place cotton grass.
