14.8.2019: Achensee

Susi wanted to see the Achensee, and it was ok for me. Daily traffic jam between Fügen and the Brettfall tunnel ...

We drove to Pertisau and walk along the western lakeshore to the Gaisalm.

Great Willowherb (Epilobium angustifolium)

We shall take one of these boats back to the car.

View along the Achensee to the south and the Inn valley ...

 ... and to the North.

Wonderful turquoise water in the coves.

Susi has fun too.

The path undulates up and down.

Changeable clouds, but it stays dry with increasing sunny spells.

Here we have to cross a scree.

The path still wide here.

Much narrower now along the steep escarpments, at times crossing small waterfalls.

A rather exposed path, used by tenthousands of people ...

Bridge over another beck.

A huge scree after the steep part ...

 ... with a gorge above.

A nice coffee at the Gaisalm inn (only reachable with the boat) ...

... and we take the next ship back to Pertisau.

Afterwards, we drive a bit along the opposite side of the Achensee. This is the view to Pertisau, where we started our walk.

At the Seehof chapel, opposite the Gaisalm, we turn back.
