11.2.2025: Safari in the Sinya Wildlife reservate and thunderstorm in the evening.
One day-safari to the Sinya Wildlife reservate at the border to Kenya.
Once more, sunrise is different.
We start in the morning as early as possible to get the most of the day.On the way to the Sinya reservate the view to Mount Meru.
Many wildlife on the way, like this Zebra ...
... and this secretary bird.
At the gate to the reservatory we get a first view to Kilimandscharo.
The Sinya wildlife reservatory is situated north of Kilimandscharo and is the continuatrion of the Kenian Amboseli - National park on Tansanian territory. Today, an eastern wind is blowing away the thermik clouds from Kilimandscharo, so we have free sight to the summit till afternoon.

Until a few years ago, the white stone material was won in a quarry. Now, there is a small lake here.

On the way back, we visit the weekly market day in a small village.
Week market in the Maasai village within the Sinya Reservat.
Shortly before the end of our drive back we hear it thunder, and when we arrive the lodge, the first big raindrops fall. The lodge is west of Kilimandscharo, so the clouds are swept over to us by the eastern wind. Completely covered with dust and sweat, I decide to cool down in the pool, which turns out to be a wonderful experience with cold rain water from above and warm pool water from beneath. Soon therafter, the clouds in the west open and the evening sun comes out, shining onto the rain cloud hanging in front of Kilimandscharo, thus building a stunning rainbow. Only half dried, I sit on the patio in front of my room and take dozens of pictures of the scenery, several times having to clean up the lenses from rain drops.
The result is several panoramic pictures, each of them composed of up to 7 high format photographs, which I can fuse and process immediately, as for the lessons I have my laptop with me, with Adobe Lightroom installed.
A second rainbow appears at the end of the show. Also mind the rising moon above the foothills of Kilimandscharo.
