24.9.2024: Mefjordvaer - Husøy - Mefjordvær.

It´s raining today. We decide to pay a visit to the small fishing vilage of Husøy.

After a drive through sveral, partly rather ernarrow tunnels (single lane with sidings, roughly blasted out of the rock) we reach the small fishing village of Husøy, strategiclly placed on a rock island inside a fjord. In the meantime, there is an artificial dam to get over.

There is lighthouse at the northern end of the island, ...

... where we now walk despite the rain. At the beginning, there is a very good path, but later on ...

... we have to climb rock boulders and pass by boggy places.

The small Cafe´, where I wanted to take a rest, is closed, it seems that it is on the way to being enlarged to a bigger on so we drive back and treat ourselves to a cappucino in the lobby of our hotel.

A bit later, the clouds are blown away, and we experience a bit of evening sunshine.

Mefjordvær and mountains in behind, the peak to the left seems to be Mykjetinden (605 m).

Segla (640 m) far right at the opposite side of the Medfjord, showing its more harmless side from thie perspective, as opposed to the view from the Hesten (598 m) at its left a favourite walker´s summit. Segla looks like the sail of a boatz from there with extremely steep slopes at both sides. Walks usually start from Fjordgard.
