20.9.2024: Nusfjord - Stokmarknes
Today, we leave the Lofot islands, but have enough time for several stops. We taqke the E10 with Offersøya, Bøstad, Steiraholmen, after a short detour to Henningsvær we proceed to Kabelvåg and Svolvær and along the Austlandsfjorden in northern direction to Fiskebøl, where we enter the ferry to Melbu, to check in into the Quality Hotel Richard With in Stokmarknes.
Farewell to Nusfjord.

On the way: biew back from the head of the Fjord to the village of Nusfjord.
We proceeded on the E10, have passed the tunnel beneath the Nappstraumen and re-emerged on the island of Vestvagøya.
Immediately after the tunnel is carpark, our car is now parked there and we walk a bit up heading for the Offersøykammen.
View back to Flakstadøya. The weather is not really inviting, with frequent showers and an atrociously cold wind with only a few degrees above zero.

The view to the east of the island of Vestvagøya also is not so inviting.
I walked a bit up to the first part of the ridge; the path was extremely steep and slippery. View to the north.
The summit is still far, in between there is a longer level walk along the ridge. I decide to turn back, also because my knees not really agree to this walk.

On the drive on the island of Vestvagøya.
Shortly behind the village of Borg we stop to see the Viking museum.
We have crossed the bridges over Sundklakkstraumen and Gimsøystraumen and go for a short detour to the village of Henningsvær, where it seems to be a bit lighter.

View from the southern dam into the harbour of Henningsvær. Soon thereafter, the rain caught up with us, so we had to comfort ourselves with coffee and cakes in a nice pasty shop.

We reached the ferry port of Melbu and have reached he Vesterålen with the island of Hadseløya. Only 20 km more to Stokmarknes.
