Neue Welt ("New World") 19.1.2008

Today it is an overcast day, though without rain. After a long shopping trip to Wiener Neustadt, from which we return after 2 p.m., it is only time for a short walk. So I drive through Prosset gorge and start my walk from its upper end, first up to Stollhof, then proceeding to Maiersdorf, and back via Netting. It is rather warm regarding the season, 13 C, but with a near gale force wind, according to the weather report with gusts up to 80 km/h. Though I have my camera with me, for some reason I do not like to make any picture, in part because it is not easy to keep the camera quiet.

When evening comes, an old fotographers rule comes true: Always take your camera with you, even if you do not think you will use it!

It starts with high clouds hanging above the wrapped Schneeberg being a little bit illuminated, ...

... illumination is increased, wheras the rest of the daylight is ceasing.

Even clouds in the east, behind ruin Emmerberg, are a bit illuminated.

More clouds start to be coloured  ...

Also behind Kienberg there is illumination.

High clouds glowing more and more ...

... and also some condensation trails of planes ...

... till nearly all of the western sky seems to burn.

The light is now ceasing. The whole spectacle only has lasted for about 10 or 15 minutes.
