Lichtenwoerth´s Alluvial Forest 15.3.2009

Today we drive down to an alluvial forest near Lichtenwoerth, a village on the opposite side of Wiener Neustadt, to look for the snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis)...

Well - not very much to say about ... just look for the pictures.

As usual I am staying in behind ... however in in this part of the forest a special gift is awaiting me:

They are growing on the grassland too (if they are allowed to) ...

At least a short sunny spell.

The river Leitha, the alluvial forest of which we visited just before, is rather full of water - due to the recently frequent rainfalls and due to meltig water from the mountains.

Good to clean Sheila.
