After some days of wind and rain in Winzendorf and snow on the summits, it cleared overnight to a cloudless sky. SO, in the monring, I start with Lucy to Zweiersdorf, for a climb of Kienberg on the Irmasteig. This route was a good decision, because the steep, shady forest track on the other side would be icy by sure.
Start in Zweiersdorf. First the walk goes through shady forest, where the gravel road is icy in places.
On the Kienberg saddle, now into sun.
After about 10 minutes the first view to Schneeberg.
On the ridge. Schneeberg and Hohe Wand.
It has been snowing a lot on Schneeberg recently, ...
... but a continuous blanket of snow only covers the upper half of the Breite Ries.
On Kienberg summit.
A bit of snow here too.

Maiersdorf and Stollhof.
A second panorama, this time with the Wechsel region to the left. Click here or into the picture for a larger display.
Rocky escarpments on Kienberg summit, with Schneeberg.
I continue my walk through the forest ...
... to the grassland (and fields) called Zweiwiese.
Here you get a special view to Schneeberg.
