Hohe Wand 2.12.2010
An early winter weather has brought us lots of snow - yesterday it snowed nearly the whole day. In the morning it is reasonably clear, so I start for a walk from Dreistettento the northeasternmost parts of Hohe Wand near Herrgottschnitzerhaus.
Morning mist over Neue Welt.
Heading for this hill above - first on a cleaned gravel road, ...
... then using tractor tracks, ...
... and at last in deep snow, which however only reaches the ankles.
Shortly before Herrgottschnitzerhaus the sun comes out.
At the view point at Herrgottschnitzerhaus. I manage to catch the last rays of sun, ...
... before it disappears behind a cloud bank drawing in from southwest. Here the view over Neue Welt to the Fischau mountains ...
... and here is the view over the Piesting valley in direction Hernstein. Still sun there, but not for long.
In the afternoon thereafter it begins to snow. How this will end this winter?
