4.11.2017: a second, longer walk above San Agustin.

The girls start for as shopping tour to the island´s capital Las Palmas. I repeat yesterday´s walk, but extended and with my big camera, which is much heavier, but also provides much more possibilities.

Back to the land of the cactuses.

Here you see the big contrast between the revegetated coast zone and the desert inland.

The irrigation canals were covered on top - good against soiling and evaporation.

Withered trees. Maybe it isn´t that dry here at every time.

Deserted fields.

I return to the upper end of the Barranco del toro.

The sun is shining today, making the scene even more plastic.

I walk the higher area, ascending all the time, off the sea.

Maspalomas.

Old fields with nothing more growing on them.

Further up to the mountains..

Lots of goats on this form with nothing to eat.

View to Maspalomas and the dunes.

Another view to the Barranco del toro, this time from a bit more up.

Maspalomas and the sea.

To the east, the Barranco del Aguila.

Much more ascending, I finally reach an altitude of 465 m (according to Google Earth). Panoramic picture of the South coast of Gran Canaria near Maspalomas. Click here or into the picture for a larger display.

Sunshine on the descent.

Cactuses in the sun.

Maspalomas. Glad to be back down now.
