Years ago, dozens of adriatic lizard orchids were growing in this place. The area was mowed already in June, much earlier as to allow the orchids to grow seeds. Then, the area was mowed only in autumn - and now, the lizard orchids disappeared. Recently, (5.7.) the other part of the dam (see above) was mowed, as every year, much too early; but there, every year I can see dozens of orchids not disappearing dispite early mowing.
